Understand XR Using AR
A Super Simple AR-Enhanced Educational Book to Understand XR
XR is powerful, but it doesn’t have to be complex. This project began with a simple question: How can I explain Extended Reality (XR) to someone who’s never heard of it, regardless of their age or tech background?
The result: "Understand XR using Augmented Reality", a playful and approachable printed book that uses minimal text, simple illustrations and AR interactions to make XR easy to understand, fun to explore and memorable.
Tools Used:

Aim of the Project:
To create a super simple, beginner-friendly explainer of XR (AR, VR, MR) that anyone from a child to a grandparent can grasp, without jargon, lectures or long reads. The book uses AR not just as a subject, but as the medium to help users intuitively feel what XR is.
How It Works?
-
The book uses minimal text and clean illustrations to explain XR concepts visually.
-
Pages marked with a “*” symbol can be scanned to trigger an Augmented Reality experience.
-
These AR scenes visualize the concepts being described, turning explanation into interaction.
For example:
-
AR Page: A spaceship appears in your room to explain Augmented Reality
-
VR Page: You’re shown a fully virtual spaceship interior
-
MR Page: You can manipulate a digital object on your real desk
